Mark Egan – Bass

His unique fretless bass sound and style is both distinctive and versatile making him one of the most in-demand electric bassists on the music scene today. With three platinum and three gold albums to his credit, Mark has recorded with the likes of the original Pat Metheny Group, Elements, Sting, Gil Evans, Stan Getz, Bill Evans and Joan Osborne.

He has performed and recorded with legendary artists such as Pat Martino, David Sanborn, Larry Coryell, Chet Baker, Jim Hall, Marianne Faithful and John McLaughlin. He also has co-led the group Elements with drummer Danny Gottlieb since 1982. With ten recordings to date, the group continues to tour worldwide featuring artists such as Bill Evans, Clifford Carter, David Mann and Gil Goldstein.

In 1993 Mark launched an independent record label, Wavetone Records, and has Electric Fields recording studio where he produces his group Elements, solo projects and various artists.

Ryan studied at Berklee College of Music and is currently living in Cologne Germany. His deep tone and versatile playing has made him one of Europe’s most sought after trumpet players, playing with Artists such as Mark Murphy, Manfred Schoof, Gerd Dudek, David Liebmann, Wolfgang Lackerschmid, and Jerry Bergonzi.etc.

As well as leading his own band. He currently works at the Folkwang University of the Arts, where he is Professor for Jazz Trumpet and keeps a busy performing schedule. His last album “Reflections of the Persevering Spirit" was very well received by critics, Hailing it as “A small masterpiece", and Carniaux as:

an American gift to the German jazz scene.

Karl Latham is a NY-based internationally recognized drummer. He is known for his exceptional ability to dig into a variety of musical styles, playing straight-ahead jazz, avant-garde, funk, rock, Latin, and more. Karl has performed with wide spectrum of notable artists such as Bernie Worrell; The Fantasy Band; Ali Ryerson Quintet; Claudio Roditi; Clark Terry; Andy Snitzer; The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars; Johnny Winter and Michal Urbaniak.

Karl is a veteran of the European Jazz scene appearing with Johannes Mossinger (with Joel Frahm, Joe Lovano, Bob Malach, Boris Kozlov, Seamus Blake, Kermit Driscoll, Don Braden) and with Wolfgang Lackerschmid, with (John Lee, Cameron Brown, Michal Urbaniak, the late Attila Zoller, Randy Brecker, Ryan Carniaux and Mark Egan).

Karl is a member of the electric jazz jam group, Unit1, with Mark Egan and John Hart; (JazzTimes Magazine “50 of the Top Jazz CDs for 2013), Karl was ranked 7th drums, in the 2013 35th Annual Jazz Station Poll. Karl is co-leader of Big Fun(K) with saxophonist/composer Don Braden. Karl has released two CD’s as a leader, "Dancing Spirits" (1999) and "Resonance" (2007).

Karl Latham is an inventive powerhouse whose influences are many but whose ideas are his own.
